Grinder Operator

Position: Cylindrical Grinding Specialist (with General Machining Experience)

Location: Ingleburn | Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are currently seeking a Cylindrical Grinding Specialist with experience in metal machining (lathe, milling, and preferably cylindrical grinding machines) to join our small, close-knit team based in Ingleburn.

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have experience with:

- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to determine materials, methods, and machining sequences.
- Operating cylindrical grinding machines to achieve fine tolerances, including grinding within a few microns.
- Fitting and assembling fabricated metal parts and subassemblies with a focus on precision and finish.
- Using precision measuring instruments to verify tolerances, fit, and alignment.
- Operating manual lathes, milling machines, and other conventional machining equipment.
- Performing cutting, threading, boring, planing, and drilling operations to tight tolerances.
- Conducting routine maintenance and diagnosing mechanical faults.
- Working with hydraulic and pneumatic lines and systems.

Key Attributes:

- Ability to achieve tight tolerances (within a few microns) on cylindrical grinders is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- High level of initiative with a “can-do” attitude.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
- Motivated, reliable, and capable of completing jobs with mínimal supervision.
