Our client, City of Joondalup, is seeking to engage a **Rating Services Officer **on a Permanent basis, Full Time Position.
- Salary: $62,815 - $74,022 per annum
- Plus up to 14.5% superannuation (conditions apply)
- Full Time: 38 hours per week

**_ The preferred applicant will require good problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills, experience in dealing with and interpreting legislation, sound numeracy and communication skills and experience in providing customer service in a high-pressure environment. _**

Prior experience in a large local government rates environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Reporting to our Co-ordinator Rating Services, this position is involved in the provision of effective rating services whilst providing quality customer service in accordance with legislative requirements
- You will undertake a variety of tasks with the aim of ensuring the efficient and effective collection of rates
- Tasks will include daily maintenance of the rating system and dealing with telephone and written enquiries
- Undertake Rating Services processes including, but not limited to, direct debit process, change of ownership, pension/ senior process, debt collection, notice of discontinuance and deferred claims in accordance with documented processes
- Contribute to Rates Services processes including, but not limited to, rates notices, final notices and interim rates
- Resolve payment queries with ratepayers and other external stakeholders using proactive problem solving skills
- Ensure service is delivered in a timely and accurate way in accordance with legislative requirements and procedures
- Provide timely and accurate rating advice and information
- Ensure all financial activities are undertaken in accordance with the City of Joondalup's purchasing protocols and practices
- Ensure prompt capture of corporate information and documentation in accordance with the City of Joondalup's record keeping system, policies, protocols and practices
- Participate in the development of new processes and review of existing processes with the aim of identifying opportunities for efficiencies
- Respond to all customer queries in and efficient and professional manner
- Assist and inform the Co-ordinator Rating Services of customer service-related issues and feedback
