**Position**:Disability Support Worker

**Location**: Brisbane North Side

**Shifts**: Ongoing, with stability and potential for permanent employment

We are looking for reliable, committed, and experienced disability support workers to join our team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide assistance with personal care, medication, and meal preparation.
- Support clients to attend appointments and grocery shopping.
- Work with challenging behaviours, PBSPs, and care plans.
- Offer domestic support and household tasks.
- Assist with the use of assistive technology.
- Facilitate community inclusion and participation in activities, venues, and services.
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans and/or Care Plans.
- Work as part of a team and participate in team meetings and training.

About the RoleOn a day-to-day basis, you will:

- Support daily living, ensuring maximum opportunity for developing independence and achieving goals.
- Provide opportunities for choice and control and participation in matters relating to the home, as well as facilitating access to community services as required.
- Carry out and promote positive routines in a cooperative, respectful, and flexible manner, which are meaningful and purposeful to the participant.
- Facilitate community inclusion and participation to establish and maintain relationships and interests through access to community activities, venues, and services.
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans and/or Care Plans.
- Work as part of a team and participate in team meetings and training.

Mandatory Requirements:

- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent experience
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and NDIS Screening Card (Yellow Card) or willing to obtain prior to commencement
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance

Preferred but Not Essential:

- Manual handling training
- Administration of medication training
- Industry experience, working with challenging behaviours, mental health, disability, or other relevant experience will be highly regarded

**Client Information**

The client resides in Everton Park (North side) and requires support for the following schedule:

- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday
- 4pm - 9pm

Supports Staff must be:

- Male
- Not older than 35 years old
- Christian (Pentecostal, Baptist, charismatic)

4pm-9pm Shift Duties Include:

- Support with exercising, showering, meals, personal care, getting the client ready for bed, and **reading the Bible** to the client.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $31.00 - $41.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 36 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Evening shift
- Night shift

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid & CPR Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Work Location: In person

Expected Start Date: 10/09/2024
