**Category Assistant Required - The First Stepping Stone to Category Management**

**About the company**
We are an Independent Industrial Supplies retailer with an extensive national footprint of stores across the country. The Support Office to the network of over 90 industrially focused stores has an opportunity for a person who sees themselves progressing into a 6 figure Category Management role in the future. Forget about these highly expensive Marketing Degrees that, once complete provide you with access to a junior assistant role with a large student debt Get into a Category Assistant role immediately, that will earn you good money and lead you on a path to greater things to come.

**About the role**
Reporting into the Category Managers, this role will see you responsible for assisting with the daily marketing, supplier and member administrative duties. You will be helping build promotional programs and providing support. You will also provide your Category Manager and other staff with any administration support required. You will learn what’s required to become a successful category manager organically. No degree needed. Just common sense and an ability to learn and work We will help you on the way.

**Duties**
- Category/ product planning and promotion
- Liaising with key internal & external stakeholders
- Support for the promotional program including image sourcing, pricing details & product features & maintenance
- Market trend & competitor analysis
- Marketing & promotion administration
- Promotional timeline management and delivery booking

**Skills & Experience**
- Experience in retail, preferably in a head office/ support centre based role preferred but not essential
- Strong attention to detail & communication skills vital to this role
- Computer literacy - Previous experience with Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Sharepoint an advantage.
- An energetic attitude for learning is vital with a desire to build a career in Category Management
- Previous experience in the hardware or industrial supply industry advantageous but not essential

**Salary**: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
