**About the role**

The Governance, Risk, Audit and Workplace Services team within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport (DCITHS, the department) have a fantastic opportunity for an Associate Director to join the team.

In this role of Associate Director Enterprise Risk, you will lead the Enterprise Risk team and drive the development and implementation of a fit for purpose risk management framework across the department, provide advice on risk management and engage with key stakeholders to identify and collaborate on risk-based decisions.

The program of work being delivered by the team will include refreshing the risk management framework and partnering with key stakeholders to hold risk workshops and uplift risk registers for each division, as well as managing and governing the implementation of this. This role will be a key advisory stakeholder for cross-government and portfolio collaboration in the risk management space and lead the development of metrics to ensure strong governance reporting to the executive leadership and Audit and Risk Committee cohorts.

The Enterprise Risk team will manage and uplift the department’s risk management culture, engaging with key stakeholders to maintain risk registers, develop a Community of Practice, share knowledge and deliver training. Additionally, you will also be responsible for leading a refresh of the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS), engaging with executive leadership to determine the department’s appetite for risk.

In this role you will also work closely with the Associate Director Climate Change Risk to support the implementation of the whole of Government climate change adaptation strategy and provide advice on innovation solutions for the department to further consider emerging risks in decision making.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will be a leader with strong interpersonal skills, with experience in leading and development risk management frameworks, internal control and risk-based systems.

You will:

- have an innovative, strategic approach, putting the customer at the centre of everything you do.
- have experience working with diverse stakeholders who have competing priorities.
- have current industry knowledge, ensuring to improve and expand on industry best practice tools and practices across DCITHS.
- have leadership experience, leading and coaching staff to drive a culture of high performers.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience.
