The Finance and Rates department are seeking a full time experienced financial professional to join our Financial Analysis Team

We are seeking a Financial Analyst with proactive analytical and problem solving skills who loves building relationships with business partners to achieve strategic financial outcomes for the community. You will be provided with opportunities for career growth through mentorship and exposure to a diverse range of financial functions including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning.

You’ll be involved in:

- Undertaking data analytics of financial and non-financial information to provide insights or identify trends, issues or risks and provide recommendations
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Responsible Managers/Budget Officers in respect of Business Partnering and provide value adding financial services to Council staff
- Undertake reviews of Finance and Rates procedures and processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Assist with financial modelling including scenario analysis and stress testing of budgets, plans and strategies
- Assist with the development, planning and facilitation, co-ordination, compilation and preparation of the Council’s annual budgets, long term financial plans and annual financial statements where required

This position plays a key role in the decision making process by analysing data, providing insights that support quality decision making and developing working relationships within Council to facilitate continuous improvement and assisting staff to understand and effectively use financial information.
