**About the Role**

The Housekeeper and Laundry Assistant will provide high-quality professional cleaning and laundry services to help maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the residence with a focus on maximising safety and minimising health risks for residents, visitors and staff at all times.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, The Housekeeper and Laundry Assistant will also be responsible for, but not limited to:

- Provide a timely and efficient cleaning service that is responsive to the needs of residents and facility operations.
- Ensure that the cleaning service is conducted in a way that is safe to staff and residents and complies with Workplace Health & Safety legislation including safe use of chemicals.
- Ensure that residents’ clothes and other personal items are laundered using strict control measures that monitor disinfection standards as well as presentation.
- Ensure that residents’ personal clothing and other items are not damaged as a result of the laundering process and their belongings are presentable and clean on return.
- Follow correct procedures to prevent loss of residents’ clothing and personal items.
- Complete labelling of unmarked residents clothing items in a timely manner and return all items submitted for labelling to resident’s room.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service when interacting with residents, resident representatives and staff.

**About you**

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

- Previous experience as a cleaner or laundry attendant.
- Demonstrated organisation and time management skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning products and the safe handling, storage and disposal or chemicals, and use of cleaning equipment
- Good communication skills, including a caring and compassionate manner when interacting with customers and their representatives
- Values driven and willing to commit to and demonstrate the organisation’s values.
- A commitment to the principles of Workplace Health & Safety and ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Ability to build and foster strong working relationships and work well as part of a team.

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:

- Willingness to obtain valid Police Check
- Australian/New Zealand residency or a valid working visa
- A current COVID-19 vaccination
- A current Influenza vaccination
