**About the Role**:

We recognise the unique and invaluable skillset Peers bring to clients and want to expand with your help Peer Recovery Workers provide an understanding of the experience of living with a mental health challenge and assist people to connect, feel validated, and supported to strive for the recovery outcomes they hope to achieve. This is a community based position, supporting individuals to engage in their recovery goals and making links within the community of their choice. This position will be required to work independently in the community offering client centered support within the model of care. This is a rare opportunity to secure a position in the sought after Fremantle location.

Peer workers provide a unique perspective and offer hope to individuals on their recovery journey by showing that recovery is possible. Through shared understanding, Peer workers help people feel supported, connect, grow resilience and enhance wellbeing.

We are seeking a full-time Peer Recovery Worker to join our Stronger Ground Central team The position will work Monday - Friday. Flexible start and finish times between the hours of between 8am - 5pm.

**What do we offer?**:

- A salary aligned with Level 4 of the Ruah Enterprise Agreement (and the SCHADS Award), starting at $85,399.

Who are we looking for?

It is expected that the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

- The position requires a Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (minimum 75% completion) or completion of Peer Skillset.
- Experience working as a Peer Worker supporting individuals facing mental health challenges
- Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the three guiding principles of the organisation
- Lived experience of recovery from mental health and/or a Cultural peer perspective.
- Willingness to identify as a person with lived experience working in a peer support role.
- An understanding of peer work in a community setting.
- Openness to continuous quality improvement and learning in this role.
- A great attitude and commitment to your team, colleagues, clients, and the organisation.
- Ability to engage with individuals within different levels of needs and build and maintain a professional relationship
- Ability to work independently and contribute to the functioning of the team.
- Ability to model positive behaviours, emotional maturity, coping skills and resilience.
- Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
- Understanding of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and client reporting system.
- Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture.
