**Job Description**:
This is an exciting time to join Nine Radio. We are about to embark on a challenging journey as we rebuild and reposition our broadcast operations for the future.
As a Panel Operator you will prepare & technically produce on-air radio shifts, assisting the presenter. This includes pre and post production of audio as well as studio setup and hardware testing. The panel operator will also support various network shows as required.
Day to day you will:
- Assist with network program/s preparation including pre and post production
- Setup the on-air studio prior to the commencement of the program
- Test all hardware and software that will be used throughout the program
- Keeping announcers informed of the show's progress
- Keeping the show on time, and timing out to news and other programming elements
- Playing music, sponsorship announcements and programming elements at appropriate times
- Controlling microphones and levels, and operating the on-air telephone system
- Coordinating talent, such as in studio guests, news/traffic reporters
- Thoroughly completing your studio check-list with enough time to adequately resolve any issues that arise
- Ensuring that no illegal, malicious or otherwise defamatory comments are put to air. This is inclusive of announcer, guest and open line commentary
- Tidy the on-air studio after the program has finished
- Record all music played on-air and be sure it is included in APRA reports
- Keep records of sponsorship and commercial delivery
This role is being offered on a casual basis, and nights, overnights and weekend availability is desirable.
**Qualifications**:
You are a pro at working under pressure and are able to think quickly and effectively when something goes wrong. You are able to articulate clearly with Presenters and Managers and pride yourself on your ability to remain calm and positive in stressful situations.
What we would like to see on your resume:
- Technical abilities in computing and audio production (Pro Tools or Adobe Audition experience is advantageous, but not essential)
- Competence in using on-air playout systems (LAWO Panel and ZETTA PLAYOUT SYSTEM advantageous, but not essential)
- Previous radio experience would be beneficial
