**About the role**
Frankston Youth Services is dedicated to partnering with and supporting our diverse young people who live, work and/or study in the Frankston municipality. Throughout the year, we run various community, school and holiday programs for those aged 12-24. These programs are crafted for young people and by young people with varying needs and backgrounds.
We run seven drop-in centres and a youth outreach bus, so we can run activations, events and programs at various locations and youth hot spots to be as inclusive and accessible as possible.

Councils Community Strengthen Department is looking for Casual Youth.
Your main responsibilities will include:
**Programs and Planning**
- Maintain regular face-to-face contact with young people and actively involve young people in the decision-making, planning, and implementation of activities and projects.
- Assist in the development of programs and activities which respond to the needs of young people and are consistent with the objectives of the Community Strengthening Department.
- Foster a team-based approach in delivering Council’s Youth Services.

**Community Development**
- Establish rapport with the community and young people through individual and group interactions and activities.
- Provide support to young people and utilise the local youth network referral system to assist in addressing individual young people’s needs.

**Administration**
- Undertake a variety of administrative tasks relating to the day to day operation of the position.
- Provide and distribute information and resources to young people accessing Youth Services.

**About you**
We are seeking someone passionate about youth engagement in a highly diverse community. You will play a role in developing and delivering inclusive, accessible and flexible programs to young people to strengthen connectedness with peers, family and community. In addition, you will assist in running our events and activation's to support opportunities for young people to engage and better participate in various community, cultural, social and learning opportunities.
As a casual worker within the Youth Services team, we are looking for someone with flexible availability between the hours of 8:30-5:30 Monday
- Friday and occasional evenings and weekends.
The following qualifications and/or experience are required for the position:

- A Certificate III or above in Youth Work or related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with young people individually and/ or in groups.
- Current working with Children Check
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to build rapport with young people and commit to youth participation.
- Flexibility to work all hours of the week to meet the service needs; this requires people to work during school hours, after school hours, some evenings and weekends.

The following qualifications and/or experience are desirable for the position:

- A Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)

This position is a Band 4 currently remunerated at $43.89 per hour plus superannuation
