**About the role**
Based at our Boorai Child and Family Centre (Ocean Grove), you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with current food safety legislation and nutritional guidelines. You will also maintain the kitchen environment and equipment in a safe and hygienic manner at all times.

**Work type: Permanent Part-Time (3 hrs per day, Monday - Friday)**
**Classification: Band 1 $32.49 per hour**

Key responsibilities include:

- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals appropriate to a variety of age groups.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations
- Maintain communication with Centre staff and parents in relation to the individual dietary requirements of children.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge of preschool children’s nutritional requirements and food safety, and the ability to assist in the preparation of age-appropriate meals for a large number of children.

Essential:

- A current Working with Children Check
- Ability to identify Health and Safety issues in the work environment.
- Ability to assist in the preparation of nutritionally balanced and age-appropriate meals for a large number of young children incorporating meals for children with specific dietary requirements.
- Completion of a recognised food handler’s course would be an advantage.
