Organisational Compliance Officer

- The Compliance Officer role is a newly created role in the Governance team, within the Advocacy Partnerships and Community Engagement directorate.
- The role is a key specialist, advisory and technical role responsible for:
- The building and implementation of the Brimbank Compliance Management Framework (CMF).
- The design and implementation of a Compliance Management System(CMS), inclusive of designing monitoring and reporting methodology in accordance with Council’s requirements.
- Providing technical and timely strategic advice in relation to the CMF and CMS to Audit and Risk Committee, Executive Management Team and Council.
- Leading key management stakeholders, develop, maintain and report compliance with their legal and statutory obligations in accordance with Council’s requirements.
- To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience in implementation of ISO 19600:2014 and/or ISO 37301:2021.
- Knowledge (or the ability to acquire knowledge of) the Local Government Act and a general understanding of other legislation relevant to local government.
- Ability to design and maintain systems to monitor compliance function.
- Well-developed attention to detail, data management and report formatting skills.
- Knowledge of mobile devices and software, and confidence with MS office suite.
- Research and analysis skills, in order to benchmark and identify opportunities for improvement of Governance functions.

- A satisfactory police check (organised by Council)
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency of Australia or be legally entitlement to work in Australia
- This role is covered by the BRIMBANK CITY COUNCIL ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 9, 2021 EA9.

- Essential : Demonstrated leadership in identifying compliance requirements with the ability to communicate obligations to others and assist staff in the identification of those obligations, their impact and management.
