Your part in St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital

As an Anaesthetic Technician you will provide support to anaesthetists during complex and high-acuity surgical procedures, including cardiac, paediatric, and neuro surgeries.

The position is based within a busy 14-theatre environment, including a hybrid operating theatre, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient administration of anaesthesia.Work in a busy, 14-theatre setting, including a hybrid theatre for cutting-edge procedures.- Manage high-acuity and emergency cases that require rapid assessment and intervention.- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless care for patients undergoing complex and urgent surgeries.- Provide anaesthetic support for a wide range of complex surgeries, including cardiac, paediatric, and neuro operations.- Mentor and guide junior nurses and theatre staff in the provision of anaesthetic care.

What makes a difference for us?

Qualifications and Skills:
Anaesthetic Technician Qualification- Minimum of 2 (two) years of experience as an anaesthetic assistant in an operating theatre environment.- Australian Working Rights (We are unable to provide sponsorships at this time)- Flexibility to work shifts between 5pm - 11pm permanently- Experience in complex anaesthesia care, including cardiac, paediatric, and neuro surgeries.- Knowledge of advanced anaesthetic equipment, monitoring techniques, and emergency management protocols.- Ability to work efficiently in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with multiple complex cases.- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to handle stressful and dynamic situations.- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.

Desirable Attributes:
Experience working in a hybrid operating theatre or advanced surgical settings.- Advanced Life Support (ALS) or similar resuscitation certification.- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent (for paediatric anaesthesia care).- Experience with neuroanaesthesia and cardiothoracic surgery.
