**Job Title: Support Worker / AIN**

**Location: Gympie Region (including from Tiaro to Pomona)**

**Hours - Casual 10+ per week, more for the right applicant**

We are looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic individual to join our team servicing the Gympie region. As a support worker / AIN, you will work with the elderly and adults with disabilities, providing them with practical and emotional support to help them live as independently as possible. You will have strong work ethics, patience, compassion, and motivation. Exceptional listening skills and the ability to empower people are vital contributions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. Including showering and hygiene.
- Promote independence and enable people to develop new skills, interests, and have a voice.
- Provide emotional support and companionship.
- Work closely with individuals' families.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and improve knowledge.
- Adhere to professional ethical and legal standards.
- Maintain accurate records of progress notes, etc.

**Requirements**:

- Experience working in a care role is ideal, though others will be considered for the right fit.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Empathy and compassion for service users and their families.
- Understanding of the principles of person-centered care.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to support services is highly regarded.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and possible evenings (not regular evenings at this stage).
- Full driver's license and reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Yearly flu shot is mandatory; prefer COVID immunization also.
- Blue card and Yellow card/NDIS workers screening check.
- Recent police check (up to 3 months old).
- Hourly rate is dependent on proven experience, training/education.
- Role starting as Casual, may consider permanent role after probationary period.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $31.46 - $34.96 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week

Schedule:

- Rotating roster

Supplementary Pay:

- Penalty rates
- Performance bonus
