Your day-to-day
- **People**
- Respond to and resolve queries from staff
- Where appropriate, educate, train and motivate colleagues on the Business Support Function and ensure colleagues have the information, tools and equipment to successfully complete tasks in other departments.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with key department heads.
- **Responsible Business**
- Implement, maintain and ensure adherence to cashiering procedure as per the hotel’s policies.
- Make ethical decisions with transparent reasoning.
- Ensure cashiering activities support corporate and environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Other ad-hoc duties - unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done
- **Guest Experience**
- Respond quickly to staff requests in a friendly manner and follow up where required
- Ensure cash handling practices adhere to policies in place for the hotel
- Cooperates, coordinates and communicates with staff and other departments in business support matters
- Work with IT to provide maintenance and updates to Micros
- **Financial**
- Assist in the timely banking of cash for the hotel
- Ensure adherence to the hotel’s credit policy
- Reports directly to and communicates with the Director of Finance/Assistant Manager of Finance and Business Support on all matters pertaining to credit and collection of guest and city ledger accounts
- Assist in the timely billing of accounts
- Maintain a filing system for account receivable records
- Assist in balancing daily transfer to city ledger and post, edit and update to accounts receivable system
- Reviewing and maintaining the Aged Trial Balance of Accounts Receivable
- Timely processing of Cheque & direct deposit received from debtors and take corrective action where necessary
- Ensure all invoices have the appropriate documentation attached and approvals prior to processing and process all invoices and statements
- Check arithmetic accuracy and invoices
- Calculate travel agent commissions
- Use finance computer programs
