**Who are we looking for?**

We are seeking a Research Associate to join School of Mechanical, Medical and Process Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Academic Division.

We are searching for a motivated Research Associate to contribute to cutting edge cardiovascular engineering research. Our cardiovascular engineering program spreads across multiple research groups and includes developing engineering solutions to clinically relevant problems, large programs developing commercial solutions for heart failure, and the Centre for Biomedical Technologies which aims to improve human health in our lifetime. The main focus of the cardiovascular engineering research activities is to develop life-saving solutions for patients with heart failure. This includes technologies relating to artificial hearts, ventricular assist devices, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (heart-lung machines), heart valves, and more. Novel devices are designed in conjunction with clinicians, and then evaluated in life-like simulation and experimental conditions.

The School of Mechanical, Medical and Process Engineering delivers education and research into the design, manufacture and operation of Biomedical, Chemical and Mechanical systems and processes. **What you need to succeed**
- Completion of a Bachelors qualification in Medical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or closely related fields, with experience in Medical Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in medical engineering research projects
- Proven ability to use initiative and contribute new ideas to the research of cardiovascular engineering, along with a demonstrated adherence to ethical standards in research confidentiality
- Demonstrated experience in administrative duties, with a preference for research administration
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and the wider research community.
