**MECHANICAL FITTER**
REPORTS TO:
Leading Hands Supervisors Division Manager Group Operations Manager
**SUBORDINATES**:
Apprentices
**POSITION PURPOSE STATEMENT**:
Carry out production requirements as shown on Job Sheets and as directed.
HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Comply and assist in meeting company statutory safe working requirements. Including but not limited to:

- Report all incidents to your supervisor.
- Consider Health, Safety and Environment Requirements when planning jobs.
- Identify and report rectified and unrectified safety hazards to your supervisor.
- Participate in safety training and meetings as and when required by the Safety Co-ordinator.

**QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Comply and ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the Quality Management System.
**PRODUCTION RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Produce machines and equipment by assembling metal parts and subassemblies.
- Diagnose and maintain machinery that includes the repair and overhaul of fluid power equipment and mechanical parts.
- Use precision measuring instruments to determine the accuracy, clearance and fit of assembled and fabricated metal parts.
- Access operation sequence, machine settings and suitable materials from drawings and specifications.
- Operate equipment and carry out all work in a safe and efficient manner.
- Carry out production requirements as shown on Job Sheets and Manufacturing Work Instructions, and as directed.
- Inspect and dimensionally check your work as you proceed.
- Segregate and report nonconforming product.
- Mark all product with Job Number.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and safe manner.
- Visually check measuring equipment and report any equipment requiring repair or recalibration.
- Report all malfunctions or damaged equipment.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & CHARACTERISTICS:

- Year 10 education minimum.
- Trade certificate in relevant trade.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering workshop

You will have the ability to communicate on all levels and work well within a team.

This is a full-time position with a basic salary range of between $65,000 - $75,000 per annum + superannuation.
