The Role You Could Play
As a Category Marketing Manager, you are accountable for the curation and execution for category level marketing strategies and initiatives, driving topline commercial growth for your category in line with MECCA commercial targets. You will be responsible for development and execution of integrated omni-channel marketing strategies with both a brand and category lens. You will lead marketing strategies from briefing through to delivery, working cross-functionally with internal teams and external brand partners to bring the broader category strategy and MECCA Brand DNA to life.
You will be responsible for:
- Lead the integration of category and brand strategies into MECCA’s marketing campaigns, aligning with business and customer priorities
- Drive end-to-end campaign planning and briefing processes, partnering closely with Brand, Go-To-Market, and Channel teams
- Make strategic trade-off decisions to prioritise marketing initiatives based on commercial impact
- Build and manage strong relationships with brand partners, co-developing impactful, aligned marketing plans
- Lead annual brand planning and ensure seamless integration of brand priorities into campaign ecosystems
- Shape and execute category marketing strategies that drive performance, innovation, and storytelling across channels
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver creative, test-and-learn content and campaign executions that elevate category narratives
- Represent MECCA Marketing across internal and external forums, ensuring alignment and advocacy for category priorities
- Support a high-performing team by flexing across projects, balancing workloads, and improving tools and workflows
- Foster a collaborative, solutions-focused culture built on shared success, continuous improvement, and strategic agility
What You Will Bring
As the Category Marketing Manager, you will be the category expert within the business. You’ll build strong internal and external relationships, represent your category in cross-functional forums, and act as a central marketing point of contact for key brand partners. You’ll also mentor and support team members and adapt your focus to reflect shifting business needs. With a strategic and curious mindset, you’ll also champion new-generation marketing thinking, pushing innovation, enhancing customer experience, and driving long-term category impact.
You will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Proven ability to lead and deliver strategic, omni-channel marketing campaigns that align with customer needs, commercial priorities, and MECCA’s category and brand strategies
- 7+ years of marketing experience, ideally within retail, beauty, fashion, or FMCG, with a strong understanding of consumer behaviour and trends
- Deep understanding of MECCA’s strategic direction with the ability to translate into actionable marketing initiatives
- Strategic thinker who can identify high-impact opportunities, break down complex challenges, and develop creative, commercially minded solutions
- Experience working in a retail-led, cross-functional environment with a collaborative mindset and strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to build and strengthen strategic brand relationships, co-creating impactful marketing plans and delivering compelling campaign storytelling
- Confident in navigating ambiguity, making informed decisions with the best available information, and communicating risks and changes transparently
- Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, able to inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and share knowledge to foster alignment and trust
- Motivated by continuous improvement—challenges assumptions, embraces innovation, and champions test-and-learn approaches that elevate category performance
- Calm, composed, and tenacious under pressure, with a growth mindset and a drive to contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture
