- Establishing effective working relationships with staff across the organisation, including with Senior Management, Executive and elected Councillors, and provide advice, guidance, and professional expertise to these stakeholders on media and public relations matters.
- Develop a network of media contacts and proactively identify opportunities to promote Council and the services we deliver for our community.
- Being solution focussed - thinking outside the box, seeking creative ways to support your team through problem-solving and continuously improving processes and procedures.

Things You’ll **Do**:

- Be an integral member of the team and strive to enhance community understanding of the positive works undertaken by Sutherland Shire Council while exercising sound judgement in keeping key internal stakeholders informed of issues facing our community.
- Have demonstrated ability to adapt your writing style to suit a wide range of publications and other communications channels, creating media releases, media statements, speeches and web and advertising content.
- Have exceptional time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with media and key partner agencies.
- You will bring to the team your exceptional communication and stakeholder management capability.

The **Fine** Print:

- **Package**:$84,000 - $91,000 gross p.a. plus 10.5% superannuation
- **Hours of work**: Permanent Full Time. 35 hours per week with option of 19 day month flexitime arrangement. Some weekend and/or out of core working hours may be required.
