**Position Overview**:
As a Support Worker you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals with disabilities, and those in Supported Independent Living (SIL) arrangements. The primary objective of this role is to assist clients in achieving their goals, enhancing their independence, and improving their quality of life. You will work closely with participants, their families, and other professionals to implement personalised support plans.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Personalised Support**:
Provide direct care and support to clients with disabilities in accordance with their individualised NDIS plans. Assist participants with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.

**Goal Implementation**:
Collaborate with participants and their support teams to identify and set specific goals in line with their NDIS plan. Support participants in working towards and achieving their goals, whether they are related to skills development, community engagement, or vocational training.

**Assistance with Household Tasks**:
Help participants maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.

**Transportation and Community Access**:
Provide transportation assistance for participants to access community resources, appointments, and recreational activities. Accompany participants to appointments, outings, and social events, promoting their community participation.

**Communication and Documentation**:
Maintain clear and accurate records of participants’ progress, activities, and any incidents or concerns.

Communicate effectively with participants, their families, and other professionals involved in their care to ensure a coordinated approach to support.

**Behavior Support**:
Implement strategies and techniques to manage challenging behaviors when necessary, following behavior support plans and guidelines.

**Safety and Risk Management**:
Always ensure the safety and well-being of participants. Identify and report any hazards or concerns related to the client's living environment or activities.

**Cultural Sensitivity**:
Respect and promote cultural diversity and sensitivity, adapting support approaches to meet the unique needs of each client.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Understanding of the NDIS and SIL framework.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work minimum of 3 days a week various shifts, including weekends, evenings active and inactive sleepover if required.
- A valid full driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (if transportation of clients is part of the role).

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
