**About the role**
As a motivated and friendly Procurement Officer, you will be accountable for finding and evaluating suppliers, products and services while negotiating contracts and acquiring the most cost effective procurement method.
**Duties**
- Maintain a register of approved suppliers, ensuring new suppliers are appropriately vetted and rated
- Manage suppliers, contractors, and consultants to ensure that goods, services, and projects are delivered in line with the agreed terms and conditions
- Centralize and streamline purchasing, to ensure efficiencies and value for money in the School’s procurement
- Implement effective governance arrangements, allowing contracted deliverables and outcomes to be monitored
- Assist in obtaining quotes and raising purchase orders for approved departments
- Ensure Purchase Orders are raised in line with the Procurement Framework
- Coordinate procurement throughout and ensuring compliance with the Procurement Framework and Modern Slavery Statement
- Provide support and training to internal stakeholders for the tendering, negotiation and execution of new contracts, renewals, and amendments to existing contracts
- Assist with the management of information and documents resulting from procurements
- Ensure contracts are maintained centrally and compliance requirements by contractors and suppliers are met
- Other duties as requested by the Finance Manager
**Skills & experience**
- High level of initiative, strategic thinking, interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence and achieve quality procurement outcomes
- Excellent written communication skills to inform stakeholders and prepare procurement documents
- Demonstrated self-awareness with a values-based, customer-centric and outcomes focused approach
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviors when engaging with children
- Procurement experience (4+ years)
- Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Office Excel
- Proficiency in data entry skills.
- Good communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- VCE or equivalent
- Relevant higher education qualification - Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Business, Supply Chain or Logistics) or Certificate IV in Procurement.
