We’re looking for a passionate Lead Trainer to join our team and help drive operational success by delivering high-quality, consistent training across our Huntingwood site 5 days a week.
In this role, you’ll lead and mentor a team of trainers, ensuring all learning aligns with national standards and competency frameworks. You’ll play a key part in tracking training progress, assessing effectiveness, and identifying opportunities to continuously improve how we develop our people.

**In this Role**
- Manage, monitor & plan for training across the Distribution Centre to ensure all team members are competent in safely delivering the responsibilities of their role; monitor & track the centralised training tool to ensure training is planned for & delivered to meet the demands of the operation
- Identify training gaps by conducting a training needs analysis of the DC and leverage best practise to identify the key training needs; prioritise accordingly
- Plan, coordinate & execute induction training for new starters inclusive of induction & train to competency for new starters
- Plan, coordinate & execute cross-functional training to ensure efficiency & availability based on competency of labour across the operational teams
- Deliver a national technical classroom training that creates a connection to the Metcash Purpose in supporting independents and bringing the customer to life
- Hold accountability for the growth & development of team trainers, create an environment that encourages & enables professional and personal growth
- Support and develop team trainers to enable a consistent delivery of the learning experience utilising the ASK, TELL, SHOW, DO methodology
- Coordinate & manage team trainers across the training delivery schedule, assign trainers based on training demand across the operation
- Ensure operational consistency in assessing the skills of trainees to determine verification of competence
- Monitor & embed safety practises across all aspects of technical training in line with the national delivery & safety standards to create a safe working environment
- Collate & present training data to Operational leaders inclusive of the number & progress of new starters. Determine & maintain training effectiveness to meet speed to competence targets and remove barriers to extending tenure. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Participate in & co-develop _fit for purpose _training modules in conjunction with the National Technical Training Lead
- Partner & work with interstate DC Training Leads to share best practise & implement a consistent national approach, identify & agree on opportunities for continuous improvement
**You’re Likely a Match If**
- Extensive experience in FMCG roles (e.g., Buying) with strong product knowledge and familiarity with the Bakery industry
- Proven skills in implementing procedures, executing strategies, and driving supply chain efficiencies
- Demonstrated team management experience with effective communication and relationship-building abilities
- Strong presentation and influencing skills to engage stakeholders and drive results
- Solid understanding of supermarket retailing and industry-specific goods
