**Hiring Casual English/Maths Tutors**

Educate Tutoring is currently seeking a casual English/Maths Tutor to teach foundation literacy and numeracy skills to students aged between 5 and 18 years. We deliver in-person lessons, in both individual and small group settings, from our offices in Kingston and Sandy Bay, Tasmania. We support the development of students’ confidence in their ability to learn through engaging multi-sensory and explicit instruction models.

**Position Overview**:
This role involves the in-person delivery of weekly one-hour quality educational support programs, primarily taking place outside of school hours. Usually, 7:30 to 10:30 in the morning and 2:30 to 6:30 in the afternoon. Tutoring hours will gradually increase with new enrolments.

**Responsibilities**:

- Teach and support primary and high school students in individual and paired English/Maths classes
- Prepare and deliver engaging, creative and concrete lessons that support students to progress their learning at any level
- Maintain records of assessment, student results and homework submissions as appropriate
- Monitor student progress through administration of formal and informal assessments provided by Educate Tutoring
- Correct student homework on a weekly basis and provide feedback to students
- Work cooperatively within a supportive team environment and with senior administrative staff
- Be punctual for all scheduled tutoring sessions
- Complete and hand in all required Educate Tutoring administrative paperwork
- Attend appropriate training, staff development activities and meetings as organised by Educate Tutoring
- Provide effective supervision of all students for the duration of their attendance at tuition
- Collaboration with parents, teachers and allied health professionals to develop support programs and assess student progress

**Requirements**:

- Subject specific qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of the teaching and learning process
- Ability to communicate confidently and comfortably
- Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
- National Police Check

**Experience (desirable but not required)**:

- Delivery of evidence-based, sequential instruction in Literacy/English
- Delivery of creative and concrete lessons that engage students, build confidence and skills
- Experience in teaching foundation mathematics skills
- Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification
- Teacher registration
