We are a major player in the Life & Health reinsurance market in Australia and New Zealand and we have the benefit of being small and nimble but with the financial backing of one of the largest reinsurers in the world. We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Life & Health subsidiary in Sydney which plays a major part in the success of Hannover Re globally.

We are seeking a Group Pricing Actuary to join our team. The role will be a permanent position reporting directly to our Head of Group Pricing.

**Key Responsibilities**

**About the role**

As a Group Pricing Actuary, you will be responsible for accurate and timely delivery of actuarial pricing analyses of group insurance/reinsurance for new business opportunities, existing client base and internal pricing bases.

**Your day may look a little like**:

- Pricing, reviewing and writing up pricing documents of new business and renewals for group insurance/reinsurance
- Providing actuarial input to the Client and Reinsurance Solutions teams for group insurance product terms and conditions advice
- Maintaining GL and GSC actuarial pricing models, including loss ratio models, credibility models, termination and profit share costing
- Keeping up-to-date with market research/reports on group insurance experience analyses and market developments
- Creating and maintaining a network of group insurance actuaries in life insurance companies

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**

**You will need to have**:

- FIAA or equivalent
- At least two years of experience in the life insurance industry
- Knowledge of group insurance products and market trends
- High proficiency in actuarial modelling techniques
- Sound actuarial technical ability and judgment including problem solving skills
- Strong technical knowledge of MS Office suite and specifically advanced Excel is required
- Recognition of the requirement to escalate and involve others as necessary
- Managing stakeholder expectations
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to take ownership of allocated work and ensuring timely delivery of results
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Initiative to work independently, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a team environment
- Ability to prioritise and time management skills in order to meet deadlines
