**Introduction**:
BCR Communities (formerly known as BBCR) is a community minded not for profit organisation providing support and services to local community members through our home care, disability and community services.

We are excited to announce that our Paradise Cottage Respite service has now reopened for business, and we are looking for committed staff to join the team to provide care and support in a home like supportive environment.

The Paradise Cottage provides short term respite in our cottage facility in Sanctuary Point, midweek on a fortnightly basis. This service aims to provide quality care in a home-like environment. Think home cooked meals, in home activities, social support and companionship to make the stay for our visitors a welcoming and safe place where they will want to return, as well as provide peace of mind to their dedicated carers who will cherish their well-deserved break from their caring role.

**Description**:
**The role will include**:

- Personal care such as assisting individuals with showering, other personal support and providing medication assistance (where competent)
- General housekeeping, assist with laundry or other similar household tasks whilst at the Cottage
- Engaging with visitors in meaningful activities and social support, and provide companionship
- Assistance with meal preparation

**Skills and Experiences**:
**You will be**:

- Qualified with a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)
- Hold Assist with Client's Medication unit
- Experienced working and supporting those living with dementia (desired)
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Able to contribute positively to work in a team environment
- A strong communicator and have good interpersonal skills to develop rapport with our visiting clients
- Interested in leisure and lifestyle activities
- Committed to a person centred approach; keeping in mind that every client that visits will have different support needs
- Compassionate with a positive attitude
- Available for shifts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday
- Available for evening and overnight, including a sleepover shift
- We may also have in the future a variety of shifts available during the day

**Applicants must hold (or obtain through recruitment process)**:

- National Police clearance
- Provide First Aid Certificate + CPR
- Drivers License, with safe driving record
- Current car registration, reliable vehicle & comprehensive insurance
- Working with Children Check Clearance
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including first booster
