**About the Opportunity**
As part of our growing team of professional engineers, the Welding & Materials Engineering Manager will be pivotal in ensuring our organisation remains at the forefront of these technologies.
As a newly created position, the incumbent will be able to lead ASC’s approach and develop processes that deliver continuous improvement in these areas of focus.
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct in-depth analysis and modelling whilst independently addressing and resolving complex engineering issues in welding and materials across various projects
- Lead and prioritise tasks for a team of engineers, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion aligned to the work breakdown structure
- Undertake tasks involving high complexity, including intricate organisation, analysis, and processes such as complex calculations and system design
- Play a key role in ASC system process development and continuous improvement, reviewing and approving engineering artefacts
- Provide technical direction throughout the lifecycle of design projects, ensuring adherence to specifications, sketches, test procedures, and engineering reports
**About you**
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field & eligible for Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent status
- Demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering methodology for managing complex projects
- Proficient in project management disciplines and industry standards
- Highly skilled in using Engineering toolsets
- Recognition of Systems Engineering capability in a multi-faceted organisation
**Eligibility**
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
