**About the role**
RES takes enormous pride in our renewable energy projects and we want to ensure our projects are well planned and well communicated. We are looking for a Head of ESG to work across our project development teams to plan and manage a portfolio of functions providing communications, environment, cultural heritage, project governance systems and other key support services to teams and projects.
The role will also involve working with RES construction and operational project teams to help them understand, monitor and manage ESG commitments.
The role will lead a team of professionals from communications, sustainability, environmental and knowledge management backgrounds.
**Key Accountabilities**
Strategic:
- Track and interpret changes in the external ESG / sustainability environment and assess the strategic consequences for the business.
- Managing RES corporate ESG initiatives in Australia, ensuring the sustainability actions of the business adhere to relevant legislative and regulatory obligations
- Prepare annual ESG/Sustainability reporting on progress, for both internal and external use to demonstrate achievement of ESG objectives
- Advising our stakeholders and clients on ESG matters
- Supporting across the business with major ESG initiatives and embedding ESG thinking into project development and competitive tenders
Social:
- Manage and build our development communications team, providing high-quality RES project communications and engagement to local stakeholders and communities.
- Oversee our social, cultural and indigenous engagement activities, ensuring we meet obligations, build our knowledge, make connections and achieve best outcomes through our project development and delivery.
Environmental:
- Manage and build our expert environmental management, biodiversity and planning activities, ensuring we meet regulatory requirements, build and communicate our expertise and knowledge and achieve the best environmental outcomes in project development, construction and operations.
Governance:
- Manage the implementation of strategic knowledge management systems, tools, behaviours and training to drive continuous improvement across internal systems, processes, and procedures.
- Manage development team administration support.

**Experience & Skills**
- Extensive understanding of current sustainability drivers, climate-related risks, environmental stewardship and social and cultural licence principles and processes
- Previous experience in a senior ESG focused role within large scale infrastructure or power generation
- Extensive stakeholder management experience
- Ability to produce high quality reporting to communicate the benefits of ESG factors and targets to a wide range of stakeholders
- Understanding of best practice ESG related performance standards, tools and rating schemes.
