Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Theatre Orderly’s to join our Perioperative team.

**About us**

Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.

We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.

**As a Theatre Orderly your responsibilities will include**:

- Delivering excellent service and care to patients
- Maintain and clean theatre equipment
- Assist in patient transportation to and from the Theatre complex
- Liaise within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ensuring patient and staff safety
- Sound knowledge of theatre equipment and safe use practices
- Proven troubleshooting skills
- Process organisational skills and complete documentation to a high standard

**Essential Criteria**:

- Prior experience in a hospital environment
- Prior experience as a Theatre Assistant, Wardsman, Orderly or similar **(highly desirable)**
- Valid authority to Work in Australia
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts across the breadth of theatre hours
- Hold a valid NSW Working with Children check for Employment
- Commitment to Quality Patient Care
- Sound decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Works well independently and within a diverse team environment
