Fitter (General)

Based in Malaga; Proofload provides a broad range of equipment and services across the Oil & Gas, Mining, Defence, Construction, and Marine industries.

We are seeking an experienced full time General Fitter

Position will be a combination of local and adhoc away work (Offshore, Mines, Regional).

Experience & Qualifications are critical, lifting inspection experience desirable.

**Requirements**:

- AQF Certificate IV or
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
- Prior Experience with Oil & Gas and Mining preferably.
- Willingness to work away independently and as part of medium to large teams.
- C/C-A Class Licence
- Requirement to pass an Offshore Medical & DNA
- Prepare and produce reports per procedural and standard requirements.

**Tasks**:

- Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
- Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
- Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
- Strip and inspection of various lifting equipment. Hoists - Manual/Electric/Pneumatic/Hydraulic.
- Strip and inspection & refurbishment of crane and hoisting blocks. Disassembly of fasteners, bearings, shafts. Check measurement and condition against drawings and acceptable standards.
- Strip, inspection and refurbishment of vulcanising platens and presses
- Strip, inspection, and refurbishment of Winders & Winches. Electric/Pneumatic/Hydraulic
- Inspection and testing of lifting and lifted, materials handling and height & safety equipment.
- Review structural design drawings of above equipment to determine testing and repair requirements.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Overtime

Supplementary Pay:

- Penalty rates

**Experience**:

- Fitter: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver Licence (preferred)
