About the role

You will be providing assistance to the metallurgy team by conducting test work in a small lab facility.

The work is varied and is tailored to suit our clients needs, including:

- Sample preparation
- Flotation
- Gravity separation
- Chemical analyses
- Pilot operation
- General house-keeping
- Other duties as directed

Strategic Metallurgy also conduct a substantial amount of leaching and other hydrometallurgical test work.

You will receive guidance on how to conduct tests but for the most part will be working unsupervised. The role will also require the successful applicant to train other met techs and assist in the expansion and future planning of the existing laboratory facility and keep it running at a high standard.

The role is a full time position with a competitive hourly rate, based on a 5 day working week in the Perth metropolitan area.

Benefits and perks

You will be guaranteed at least 37.5 hours per week, with occasional overtime if required when piloting. Work hours are flexible, but based around an availability between 6 am and 5 pm.

Skills and experience

We are looking for a hard working and suitably experienced metallurgical technician, with a positive attitude, who is able to operate without direct supervision.

The successful applicant will also possess the following skills:

- C Class driver license minimum.
- Strong communication skills.
- A strong commitment to safety
- Demonstrate a positive work ethic.
- Good organizational skills

**Salary**: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
