The _Starting Out_ program offers innovative support to young parents (25 or younger) in Melbourne's Eastern Metropolitan Region, focusing on enhancing their relationships with their children and the community. The program provides individual outreach case management and group-based activities, including parenting education, attachment-based play, and social connection-building. The Case Worker will manage a caseload of vulnerable families with complex needs, delivering case management through the Best Interests Case Practice Model. Responsibilities include outreach services, risk assessments, parenting support, proactive intervention, collaboration on intervention programs, and participation in the group work program.

The case worker will provide outreach and Family Services support to vulnerable children, babies, and families facing complex challenges. This includes ongoing safety and well-being assessments, analyzing family functioning, and working with families to address social, cultural, and familial constraints impacting parenting. The role involves assessing family skills and risks, developing tailored intervention plans, and maintaining detailed case files. Collaboration with agencies such as Child Protection and VACCA is essential, as is participation in local networking and professional development opportunities. The Case Worker will also contribute to the group work program.

Personal accountability, including compliance with Uniting's values, policies, and relevant legislation, is key. The role requires working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders while ensuring children's safety, protection, and well-being. The Case Worker will actively promote a positive workplace culture, support health and safety initiatives, and participate in mandatory training. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities such as reporting health and safety incidents and declaring any potential conflicts of interest or issues that may impact suitability to work with children and young people.

**Your skills and experience**

You will require a Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, or another related discipline to join us in this role.
