**About the role**:
As the Sample Receipt / Administration Officer of Scientific Services, you will provide a wide range of administrative support to the Scientific Services Branch of the Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions Business Unit. This administration position plays a hands-on role in sample receipt, registration, and data entry in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) supporting our internal and external customers. Key accountabilities will include but not be limited to:

- Receive and process all routine and non-routine samples delivered to the Scientific Services Laboratories at our Morayfield office.
- Provide excellent customer service by taking ownership of the reception area of the Scientific Services Laboratories.
- Investigate and liaise with our laboratories to resolve issues regarding samples with incomplete or inadequate documentation/chain of custody forms.
- Support internal and external customers collecting sample bottles or dropping off samples for testing, and sample registration in LIMS.
- Ensure accurate data entry in LIMS, record keeping of chain of custody, regular record keeping of laboratories operational data, updating and maintenance of systems and databases while providing security of these data.
- Provide high-level administrative support including but not limited to ordering office supplies, managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, receiving goods, and supporting laboratory leaders on ad hoc procurements and stock management.

- Demonstrated experience in providing quality, high-level sample receipt and administrative support within a fast-paced environment, preferably at Scientific Services or laboratories.
- LIMS experience will be highly regarded.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, coupled with problem-solving skills and the ability to identify emergent issues and where appropriate develop potential recommendations and/or implement options to resolve them.
- Well-developed time management and organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and coordinate a range of tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- C Class Driver’s Licence.
