**Engineering Assistant**

**The Role**

**Duties**
- Check incoming goods meet drawing specifications
- Palletise and wrap outgoing goods to meet quality standards
- Learn to use proprietary software to generate new jobs and orders
- Measure and Hand sketch mechanical components, using fine measuring equipment
- Respond to new and existing customer enquiries.
- Design and develop engineering solutions.
- Preparation of quotations.
- Build a rapport with customers, and develop new business opportunities where possible.
- Liaise with our management team and workshop supervisors.

**Key Skills and Experience**
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification.
- Clear communication skills and good computer literacy.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Read and create engineering drawings, either by hand sketching or by using 2D software.
- Able to use fine measuring tools, such as micrometers and vernier calipers, and be able to read both Metric and Imperial measurements.
- A current C Class Driver’s License.
- A high level of mechanical aptitude.
