**The opportunity**

Reporting to the Executive Manager of Recreation at YMCA Victoria, the Area Manager role offers the unique opportunity to work with the YMCA senior leadership team, business partners and other external stakeholders to ensure the Boroondara Leisure Facilities (BLAF) operate with excellence and continues to increase performance. The Area Manager will develop and execute long term strategy for all aspect of the business, including budgeting, talent needs, and projects, while also managing stakeholder relationships with our Council partner, to ensure the BLAF contract continues to operate the premium facilities our members and guests using the centres expect. The Area Manager will be responsible for all BLAF contract deliverables, across the following four facilities:

- Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre
- Boroondara Sports Complex
- Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre
- Kew Recreation Centre (currently closed and undergoing a $60M redevelopment)

This role will lead a portfolio including four of Victoria’s largest leisure facilities, with requirements to travel to other centres, where necessary. This is a permanent, full-time role with a $138K - $149K package (including superannuation), with flexible working arrangements.

**Qualifications & Experience**

Experience in a similar leadership role within the Sports & Recreation industry will be highly regarded but if you have significant team leadership and budget management experience from a different industry, we would love to hear from you.
- Tertiary qualifications in Sports Management, Business Management, or other related field will be highly regarded
- 5 years’ previous leadership experience is essential
