Buyer - Grocery & Perishables

**About the role**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Identify and source grocery and perishable products to meet the needs of our customers.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, discounts, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to stay ahead of changes in demand, pricing, and availability.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels to avoid overstock or understock situations.
- Work closely with the merchandising team to plan and execute promotional campaigns and product displays.
- Manage relationships with existing suppliers and seek out new vendors to expand product offerings.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and quality standards.
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to make informed decisions regarding product selection and pricing.
- Develop and maintain a strong rapport with internal teams, including store managers and logistics personnel, to ensure smooth operations.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a grocery or perishables buyer in the retail industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with food safety and quality standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- A passion for the grocery and perishables industry.
