Job Description:
As a Kitchen Hand at our Bakehouse, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen team in delivering high-quality baked goods and maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. You will assist in various kitchen tasks and ensure that our standards of cleanliness and food safety are met.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for baking, including measuring, mixing, and chopping.
- Help in the assembly and presentation of bakery items.
2. Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and storage areas.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment; ensure all items are sanitized.
3. Support Kitchen Staff:
- Assist chefs and bakers in daily operations and special projects.
- Follow instructions from kitchen staff regarding food preparation and presentation.
4. Inventory Management:
- Help with receiving and storing deliveries; ensure proper labeling and rotation of stock.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and reporting shortages.
5. Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Participate in regular cleaning and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
- Passion for baking and food preparation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual
Pay: $23.23 - $40.15 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
