**About our opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity for an Investigations Officer to join our dedicated Local Laws team at Caboolture

In this role you will make a difference in the City of Moreton Bay every day, delivering public safety outcomes and environmental protection for our City.

You will do this by undertaking comprehensive investigations and initiating compliance actions to resolve a variety of legislative breaches. Primarily these will be in relation to dog attacks, regulated dog compliance, illegal waste dumping and significant alteration on public land offences.

Reporting directly to the Investigations Lead, you will provide expert customer service, education, as well as engage and communicate with a variety of stakeholders, from residents, community members and visitors to the City, to provide high quality advice, direction and solutions.

Other responsibilities will include providing high quality reports and briefs of evidence as well as representing the Council before the Magistrates Court and the QCAT Tribunals as required.

**About you**

You will be a strong and customer focused communicator, well versed will representing in a professional and courteous manner, which incorporates our values and delivers service outcomes that meet the needs of a diverse range of audiences.

You will have effective time management skills and decision-making abilities to be able to work within timeframes and deadlines and within a regulatory team environment.

Whilst it is not essential you are experienced within local government; you will hold a Certificate IV in Government (Investigations or Regulatory Services) or similar discipline and have strong verbal and written skills required to prepare and represent Council at legal proceedings.
