Furnace Operator

The Furnace Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the toughening furnace to ensure glass products are processed according to industry standards and SuperKOTE Glass’s high-quality requirements. This role involves conducting frag counts, running test pieces in accordance with Australian standards, and overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of the toughening machine to ensure optimal performance. The Furnace Operator will play a critical role in ensuring that all glass products meet safety, quality, and performance standards, while also adhering to scheduled maintenance and operational procedures.

**Experience**
- Previous experience in toughening processes or glass manufacturing
- Familiarity with the operation of toughening furnaces, including programming and running tests
- Knowledge of Australian Standards (eg AS/NZS 1288/2006)
- Proven experience in toughening furnace troubleshooting, routine maintenance and operating complex machinery
- Understanding of safety regulations related to furnace operation and glass handling

**Skills**
- Strong understanding of glass toughening processes, including frag testing and test piece procedures
- Ability to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot toughening furnaces effectively
- Able to identify and resolve machine issues quickly to minimise production delays
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet production goals and deadlines
- Strong understanding of and commitment to safety procedures and protocols
- Ability to work collaboratively with other operators and production team members to ensure smooth workflow and achieve production goals

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 - 50 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Morning shift

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay

**Experience**:

- Furnace Operation: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver Licence (preferred)
