The Company

The Role
The Project Controls Officer will provide support for a range of projects and programs across the STS business i
ncluding direct responsibility for completion of end-of-month deliverables (financial reports, invoices, financial journals, forecasts) for several specific projects. Gain a working appreciation of project execution to enable provision of project accounting support and facilitate planning and reporting.
**Requirements**:
The responsibilities of the Project Controls Officer include but is not limited to:
Providing direct support for all aspects of project accounting and controls, including development and maintenance of forecasts, preparation and maintenance of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and project schedules, budget planning, project chargeability reporting and analysis, project timesheet administration and management, compilation of project financial reports, drafting project status (table) reports for management review, assist the project managers with drafting risk and opportunities reports, and other relevant controls reports and analysis.
Prepare project invoices for project manager review
Draft relevant project schedules and administer associated aspects for larger projects (i.e. completion of project timesheets, run relevant timesheet and financial reports)
Assisting with Proposal to Project transition/set up, implementation and closure of projects.
Coordination of monthly project performance reviews.
Administer and audit the project controls functions and financial system, including monitoring timesheet records, expenses and budgets to comply with approved policies.
Work collaboratively with Project Managers to prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
Assist in the preparation, review and processing of contract variations and formal correspondence.
Other reasonable tasks as assigned by Discipline Lead - Project Management relevant to this appointment, skill set and experience.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience and qualifications/accreditation in project management and project control systems
Advanced skills in Microsoft packages including Microsoft Project
Experience in the use of accounting and spreadsheet packages
Experience with the SAP Enterprise Resource Management system is highly desirable
Tertiary qualifications in finance, project management/controls or a related field or equivalent work experience would be ideal
Ability to obtain a Defence Security Clearance
