**The opportunity**

This role supports members of the Global Equities team with their day-to-day data and coding requirements. This role carries the responsibility of extracting investment related data from different sources, cleaning and verifying its accuracy, inputting the data into a database from their design, analysing the results and presenting the results.

In this role you will be in a position to:

- Create, link tables and manage a database used for fundamental and quantitative research
- Update the database regularly (e.g. market data such as index data, price data, factor data and financial data) and checking the data’s accuracy
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and patterns that may impact investment decisions and provide insights and recommendations based on your analysis of the data
- Contribute towards the quantitative and qualitative research process in order to support the portfolio managers and more broadly to support investments
- Develop tools to support and streamline portfolio construction and the investment process in general
- Monitor the portfolio(s) regarding market and macro conditions and risk parameters
- Assist in the identification and assessment of new investment opportunities
- Support implementation and maintenance of effective reporting as needed to effectively monitor internal portfolios
- Support additional reporting linked to any quantitative portfolios as required
- Assist the preparation of reports for UniSuper’s Investment Committee

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will bring:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, science or related field. CFA preferred
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy and consistency
- Experience in numerical and scientific programming (e.g. R, Python, Matlab), writing performant and robust code
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other members of the investment team
- Prior experience in fundamental database management or investment analysis desirable
- Experience with Bloomberg and FactSet and respective API’s desirable
