**Where you will be working**

Lactalis Harvey Fresh in Western Australian is nestled amongst the fields of the beautiful South West Region of Harvey. This farming rich region is well known for producing premium fruit and first grade milk.

**About this Opportunity**

We are looking for a collaborative and team-driven individual to join our Harvey Laboratory team as a full-time permanent Laboratory Technician. The role calls for self-motivation and a willingness to work a seven-day shift schedule, which may encompass weekends and nights when necessary. A steadfast commitment to both quality and safety is essential. Familiarity with the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), along with effective communication abilities, will be highly valued. A strong dedication to precision and accuracy from the outset is also a key attribute. Your responsibilities will include:

- Communicate test results accurately and promptly to both internal and external parties.
- Perform efficient and dependable testing in line with approved Lactalis methods.
- Ensure batch quality by conducting inspections, sampling, testing, and sensory evaluations according to standards.
- Maintain complete and precise records, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Conduct various lab tasks such as preparing samples, calibrating equipment, and performing minor maintenance.
- Take part in the positive release program, adhering to release criteria for products.
- Address any out-of-specification products, issue hold notices, and inform relevant parties.
- Follow laboratory procedures, regulations, and company policies.
- Contribute to enhancing food safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses to the Laboratory Manager.
- Fulfill tasks assigned by leaders, working both independently and as part of a team to complete testing and assignments.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Minimum Certificate III Laboratory Technician
- Demonstrated laboratory experience and proficient in basic laboratory skills: pipetting, weighing, and measuring.
- Communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Sound problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to explain test findings and troubleshoot errors.
- Good time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities to deliver results on time.
