We are seeking a suitably experienced and motivated professional to join our growing and freshly restructured Service Delivery team as a permanent, full-time Parks Maintenance Operator. The primary objective of the role is to maintain the reserves and streetscapes to service delivery measures by flexibly undertaking a variety of tasks involving small plant and equipment.

**Responsibilities of the role include**:

- Operating trucks and 4WD spray units to carry out maintenance of parks and reserves.
- Operating tractors and a variety of 3 point linkage equipment.
- Undertaking horticultural and landscaping activities including earth working, mulching, weeding, pruning, digging, raking, planting, spraying and watering.
- Commitment to working individually and as part of a team to achieve strategic goals.
- Providing on the job training and guidance when required.
- Monitoring and reporting any hazard or damage on parks and equipment to Parks Supervisors.

**What you will need to succeed**:

- Experience in large scale parks maintenance and working to maintenance schedules.
- Experience in using a powered spray unit.
- A good understanding of mowing practices and techniques.
- An ability to operate a variety of horticultural plant and equipment in a safe and competent manner, particularly tractors.
- Effective time management skills that enable an ability to set priorities, manage your own time and meet deadlines.
- Good written and oral communication that enables friendly interpersonal and high level customer service skills.
- An ability to work effectively when unsupervised or in a team.

You must possess a current ‘MR’ or ‘HR’ class drivers licence and produce a police clearance that is less than 3 months old.
