**Position Information**:
Medowie Public School is a place where students, parents and members of the community value and support each other. The school has a current enrolment of 359 students which includes 14 mainstream K-6 classes and1 multicategorical class. 12% of the total student population identify as Aboriginal and 10% are Defence Force families.
Teaching philosophies at Medowie are focused on research-based best practices, allowing a high expectations culture of learning to occur that embraces innovation through technology, personalised learning and 21st century skills. Staff regularly participate in collaborative planning, ensuring student voice is represented in all areas of the school curriculum.
Medowie Public School is a proud PBL school with the expectations of being respectful, responsible, and resilient. The school is also a member of Raymond Terrace Community PBL. Medowie Public School has strong community connections and values their support in partnering in their children’s learning journey.
**Selection Criteria**:
1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with a demonstrated capacity to balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher with the complex responsibilities of a stage 2/3 leadership role.
2. Proven ability to lead, model and build teacher capability in the implementation of high-quality literacy and numeracy programs using evidence-based assessment and effective data analysis to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
3..Demonstrated capacity to lead whole school wellbeing practices and manage complex learning and behaviour needs, to build a positive and inclusive culture.
4. A highly inspirational and collaborative leader who utilises their strong emotional intelligence to foster positive relationships with staff, students and the wider school community.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
