**Some career choices have more impact than others.**
**As you will be joining a global team, this role can be based in Australia or the Asia Pacific region**
At HSBC, we exist with the purpose of Opening up a World of Opportunity. We use our unique expertise, capabilities, breadth and perspectives to provide opportunities for our customers and colleagues through global connectivity. We bring together the people, ideas and capital that nurture progress and growth, helping to create a better world - for our customers, our people, our investors, our communities and the planet we all share.
As an HSBC employee you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities, competitive pay, an embedded flexible working culture and a range of employee benefits. These include market-leading subsidised private health cover, enhanced parental pay and support when returning to work, subsidised banking products and services, bonus leave days and wellness programmes including discounted gym memberships.
HSBC’s global capabilities and footprint allow our Global Banking teams to provide a single coverage point for leading Australian and Global Financial Institution clients. Offering vast expertise and local knowledge, especially in emerging markets, Global Banking products and services have been designed to meet the global financial needs of our clients, whatever and wherever they are.
Your key focus will be to review and approve research documents written by Global Research analysts from a regulatory perspective to enable global distribution of research to institutional investors that is compelling and meets regulatory standards. We also develop in-house standards and systems to ensure that equity, fixed income and currency research provides in-depth valuation analysis, risk assessment, and other information that clients need to make their investment decisions, improving consistency and clarity, and adding disclaimers and disclosures as needed.
We work with management and the compliance teams to develop and improve awareness among analysts regarding regulatory issues and developments. We provide training to new analysts as well. You will also co-ordinate and draft Market Risk inputs to Group reporting documents (e.g. Annual Report and entity specific regulatory reporting), developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the Australian and offshore based Market Risk teams. You will also produce various reporting packs relating to Market Risk for Senior Management, the Board and Regulators.

- Innovative thinking to refresh style and content of reports where the opportunity arises
- Maintaining HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
- Developing proficiency in various tech tools used by Global Research, including our proprietary publishing system
