**Carer/Support Worker**
**Primary purpose of the position**:
To provide care, emotional support, physical assistance and supervision for older people and/or people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.
The specifics of the role depend on the client; however, workers are required to focus on tasks that alleviate physical discomfort and promote social connectedness, independence, emotional wellbeing and general health
**Specific accountabilities**
- Assisting with domestic tasks and chores such as shopping, menu planning, cooking, washing, toileting and cleaning
- Helping with outings, social activities and other daily routines
- Providing companionship and support to assist clients to develop their existing skills, abilities and confidence
**Performance measure**
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Experience prescribing a range of disability equipment
- Demonstrated high level of problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently (as required) and exercise initiative
- Commitment to providing a client focused service in a timely, consistent, co-ordinated and flexible manner
- Demonstrated knowledge of ongoing issues that living with a disability presents at various life stages

**Education/Qualifications**:
Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) or a Certificate IV in Disability (CHC43115) or a Bachelor of Social Work
**Essential Skills/Knowledge**
Primary form of ID and secondary form(s) of ID with a value equal to 100 points of ID
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or Police Check if transitional rules apply) and Working with Children Check
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Program and COVID-19 training
Manual Handeling Training and Experience
**Desirable Skills/Knowledge**
- A First Aid Certificate
- A CPR Certificate
- Medication training

**Salary**: $28.95 - $74.77 per hour
