**Position Information**:
Belmore Boys’ High School is a family of approximately 505 students and 65 teaching and non-teaching staff, located in Southwest Sydney. Our diverse student population represents 34 languages with 98% of students from language backgrounds other than English.

Our school specialises on boys' education, focusing on the academic, social and emotional growth of our students. Our boys enjoy positive relationships with their teachers and peers, which allows them to be creative and confident learners who recognise the importance of learning and wellbeing. Our learning environment provides students with tailored learning experiences through planned, explicit and differentiated learning activities. Our school also offers a wide curriculum allowing students to successfully transition into a diverse range of future learning and employment opportunities.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria:

- Demonstrated ability to lead staff to design and deliver differentiated teaching and learning programs that build student engagement and support high expectations of student learning achievement in a complex high school setting.
- Proven capacity to work as a collaborative, responsive member of the school executive team to implement school strategic directions ensuring outstanding learning outcomes for all students those from NESB and low SES communities.
- A visible leader with evidence of well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to positively engage students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community in the support of quality teaching and learning.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
