An exciting position is on offer for an experienced Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for managing workshop assets, workloads, activities, and staff, whilst overseeing the routine and preventative maintenance work and unplanned breakdown repairs performed both in the workshop and out on all the farms of agricultural plant (including diesel and LPG), machinery and implements.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage workshop assets, workloads, activities, and staff
- Oversee the routine and preventative maintenance work and unplanned breakdown repairs performed both in the workshop and out on all of the farms agricultural plant (including diesel and LPG), machinery and implements
- Ensure the workshop and all activities by the team comply with all the requirements of OH&S legislation and the food safety and quality accreditation, including Global GAP and SQF
- Monitor the use and manage the spares inventory based on risk identification and critical equipment and spares requirements
- Responsible for parts ordering and stock management within budget
- Review, manage and document the routine and preventative maintenance functions and programs ensuring that scheduled maintenance activities are met by the workshop team in a timely manner
- Allocate and prioritise reactive / breakdown maintenance activities, maintaining records of all such activities and revising the preventative maintenance schedule where required
- Supervise mechanics within the workshop area and out on farms, ensuring that they are abiding by all food safety and quality requirements, leading by example; any deviation from these must be addressed accordingly and may require escalation with the Head of Field Operations, Technical Director, or OH&S Manager
- Oversee that all mechanics complete their duties ensuring quality workmanship, effective and efficient service delivery
- Provide on-site training and guidance to staff and raise any gaps identified in an employee’s skills with the relevant department head
- Ensure full compliance at all times to any procedures, instruction and other training which has been provided
- Ensure safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant, equipment, and systems
- Ensure that all new equipment and plant acquired abides by all quality and food safety as well as OH&S requirements
- Maintain a computerised maintenance management system
- Prepare reports as required based on data analysis and make recommendations for plant and operation improvement and review the operation of plant, equipment, and systems to minimise unplanned downtime and ensure that food safety is not compromised
- Organise the logistics and transportation of machinery between farms
- Ensure that the workshop and any work area out on farm is always maintained tidy, all tools and other loose items are controlled, and any work completed does not pose a food safety risk

**Skills and Core Requirements**
- Qualified diesel mechanic with 10+ years and with hands on experience managing teams and overseeing mechanical workshop
- Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Office software
- Report writing skills
- Previous management experience
- An understanding of basic food quality assurance principles and standards, such as HACCP
- Must have current and full Victorian Drivers licence
