The** Research Assistant** is required to support various research and administrative activities. This position includes managing databases, responding to staff queries, conducting literature searches and summarising research. The role requires close cooperation with the Director of Pedagogy and Practice Development and contributes significantly to the Institute's operations.

To succeed in this role, you will deliver innovative solutions, with strengths in data interpretation and analysis, and personal values aligned to ethical standards when handling sensitive data.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Conduct extensive literature searches to inform ongoing and future research projects (quantitative and qualitative)
- Read, summarise and synthesise research materials as directed.
- Provide statistical and methodological support, including the collection, organisation and sorting of data, as well as quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Assist in preparing research proposals, reports and publications, incorporating relevant data findings and interpretations.
- Collaborate with team members to share research outcomes, data insights and project updates in a timely manner.
- Engage in required annual compliance training, including Child Safety obligations and other mandatory sessions.
- Participate in ongoing professional learning focused on statistical methods, data analysis tools, qualitative techniques and other relevant research skills.

**What you will need to succeed**:

- Bachelor’s degree (or working towards)
- Proven experience in database management and research activities
- Strong organisational, administrative and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and research software
- Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Prior experience in an educational or research institution setting will be highly regarded
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication capabilities to integrate with our team and school community
- Exceptional attention to detail with a conscientious approach to managing multiple tasks and the ability to prioritise
- A strong sense of judgement and discretion with a commitment to confidentiality and integrity principles at all times
- Satisfactory Working with Children check
