Being suitable for the role is only half the challenge; we also need someone who will be a great cultural fit and share the same values Here at GAF & AFS, we live and breathe our core values and purpose, and believe in investing in our team and culture. **What you’ll do**: As a Warehouse Assistant / Casual, you will be required to ensure warehouse efficiency by: - Keeping the warehouse well organised and maintaining stock levels. - Pick & double check orders efficiently. - Complete tasks from the management team. - Report inventory and safety issues. - Reduce costs involved with outbound freight (CBM vs Dead Weight) - Ensure accurate and timely picking and packing of all Picking Tickets. - OHS Compliance adherence and reporting of any potential risks/hazards immediately to management. - Reduce costs involved with outbound freight (CBM vs Dead Weight) - **responsibilities**: - Able to communicate clearly and directly to ensure accurate data and information is given - Ensure work is completed in a timely and accurate manner from start to finish. - Perform warehousing duties including moving and shelving stock. - Assembly and disassembly of pallet racking as required - Manage the waste area to ensure bins and pallets do not infringe on space or impact the safety of the car park/storage area(s). - Receipt and dispatch stock and ensure inventory is accurate - Double checking of orders before dispatch - Assisting customers for equipment pickups. - Maintain personal forklift. - Maintain safety and cleanliness of allocated aisles as well as the whole warehouse. - Ensure the warehouse is secured and closed correctly. - Ensure no stock is left outside at night time - Ensure pallets are to be kept away from the building in allocated areas - Unloading and loading of stock out/in trucks & containers and performing stock counts - Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise. - Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders, pulling SKU’s, packing boxes, placing orders in the correct area for dispatch. - Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards. - Assist in reducing waste of products and utensils - May also assist in the counting of physical inventory and relaying to management. - Prepare parcels for overseas deliveries. - Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat. Sweep, dust, and mop (if necessary). Organise warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times. - Wear the proper safety equipment (PPE) - Maintain process for receiving returns, purchase orders, and transfer orders. - Follow all warehouse policies and procedures provided in your onboarding and at request from your supervisor found in Jostle. - Comply with all company procedures and policies including Work Health and Safety standards. - Pro-actively contribute to the ongoing development of company processes and policies - Report any theft or inventory concerns - Other duties as required **What you’ll need**: - Forklift Licence and Ability to operate high reach forklift. - Previous experience and an interest in the fitness industry. - Sound organisation and time management skills - Ability to work both individually and as part of a team. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to manage relationships and expectations on various levels - Excellent interpersonal skills (approachable, positive, motivated, go-getter attitude) - Appreciation and an interest in providing exceptional customer service. - Ability to multitask and prioritise - Sound computing skills, including Word, Excel, Gmail, Google Suite, Skype, Netsuite. - Sound reading and clear writing skills - Clear understanding on CBM vs Dead weight and able to demonstrate consistently - Warehouse packs order based on defined rules (eg carton vs pallet, what is "Safe" height, weight etc), with a key outcome being to minimise chargeable weight (cbm vs dead) **WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR**: **A QUICK NOTE**: Slackers and sliders do not fit the mould at GAF or AFS.
