**About the job**:
Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.
As a Technical Program Manager, you will provide leadership and management to ensure the delivery of our growing global fleet of Data Centers within the APAC Region.
In this role, you will be accountable for the delivery of a portfolio of data center projects through the various stages of due diligence, design, contracts, construction, commissioning and handover to operations. The portfolio will include projects that range in size from data halls within existing colocation facilities to hyper scale build to suit data centers.
You will be responsible for supporting the strategic development and tactical implementation of the delivery program through a partnership with strategic negotiators, project managers, engineers, and construction and operations teams.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage a global data center design and construction team and scope related to construction and/or capital improvement projects at the facilities.
- Develop detailed designs, manage construction, commissioning, close-out, and transfer to operations, ensuring all customer requirements are met.
- Establish and maintain delivery models and relationships with vendors and contractors, using appropriate metrics and measuring results. Research and implement construction means and methods of data center equipment and facilities.
- Create a growth plan and be involved in hiring/recruiting of talent in the areas of project management, field engineering, document control, technical writing, etc.
- Communicate with internal business partners to collect plans, drivers, and deadlines for initiating build projects and mobilizing contractors. Create project plans that identify resource needs and critical paths.
Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status. We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consis
